I presently work as a policy analyst with the Michigan House Fiscal Agency. At HFA, I detail proposed changes to current law made in bills referred to the committees on Agriculture, Communications and Technology, Natural Resources, Regulatory Reform, and Workforce and Talent Development, respective.
Previously I worked as a reporter for several publications across central Michigan. I primarily covered politics and policy, though I also tackled human interest, business and sports assignments as necessary.
In my free time, I volunteer for a Model United Nations conference, where I design and run a simulation of an international news room for college students. These student participants report the goings-on at the conference, writing summaries of the proceedings as news stories which my team of editors and I edit and lay out as the conference newspaper.
I also enjoy exploring and photographing new parts of Michigan and reading state and local history.
